This evening's television lineup offers a gripping true-crime documentary, a barbecue masterclass, and an adventurous trek through the Norwegian wilderness. Here's what to watch tonight.
This Is a Bomb: The Nevada Casino Heist
9.45pm, BBC Two
This heart-racing three-part documentary delves into the astonishing true story of a casino bomb plot. In 1980, a ticking time bomb containing 1,000 pounds of dynamite was wheeled into Harvey's Wagon Wheel Casino in Lake Tahoe, accompanied by a ransom note demanding $3 million. The bomb was so sophisticated that, as one bomb squad member recalls in the first episode, "all the usual techniques were thrown out of the window." The series explores the man behind the plot and the tense standoff that followed.
Jamie's Ultimate BBQ
8pm, Channel 4
Jamie Oliver returns to help the nation elevate its barbecue skills this summer. The show offers step-by-step advice and mouthwatering dishes, including a sirloin steak cooked three ways and luscious lamb lollipops. Expect the usual mix of practical tips and delicious recipes.
Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales
8pm, Channel 5
In series three of the charming Our Yorkshire Farm spin-off, Reuben has a new favourite tractor. He puts it to work assembling a sheep pen, and the whole family helps with sheep shearing, including younger brothers Miles and Sid, who might consider themselves lucky not to get their mullets clipped.
Bear Grylls Is Running Wild
9pm, Sky One
Matthew McConaughey joins Bear Grylls in the wilderness of Norway for an especially punishing trek. They travel by dog-sled across glaciers, waterfalls, and alpine valleys, and McConaughey even chows down on a reindeer testicle, remarking, "That's really not bad." The pair open up about faith and fatherhood around the campfire.
Berlusconi: Condemned to Win
10pm, BBC Four
This fascinating series tracks the rise of Silvio Berlusconi, who, via a media empire and ownership of AC Milan, became one of Europe's first modern populist leaders. Using testimony from friends, enemies, and experts on Italian culture, it tells the story of a man whose success went hand in hand with a diminishing grasp of moral standards.
Half Man
10.40pm, BBC One
In the second episode of Richard Gadd's unflinchingly brutal coming-of-age drama, Niall starts university. As he tries to adjust to his new flatmates, he calls Ruben and invites him to visit. But the mood turns sour as soon as Ruben arrives and starts a game of spin the bottle.
Film Choice
Batman (Tim Burton, 1989), 5.50pm, Sky Cinema Greats
With this 1989 comic crime thriller, Tim Burton rescued Batman from his camp TV ghetto, not least through the left-field casting of Michael Keaton as the dark knight. Getting Jack Nicholson to play the Joker was definitely more on the nose: he is clearly having a blast as the giggling, purple-clad psychopath. Other good decisions include a revamped Batmobile plus a soundtrack by Danny Elfman and Prince. The superior sequel, Batman Returns, with Danny DeVito as the Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman, follows at 8pm.
Live Sport
Champions League football: Arsenal v Atlético Madrid, 6.30pm, Prime Video
The semi-final second-leg tie.
