Phantom Peak Wild West Immersive Experience Coming to Westfield Stratford
A steampunk-inspired Wild West immersive world is poised to open at Westfield in Stratford this summer, following a successful planning approval vote by Newham councillors. The venue, known as Phantom Peak, will relocate from its current location at Canada Water in Southwark to become a permanent fixture at the Stratford shopping centre.
Planning Approval and Development Details
Councillors in Newham voted last week to grant planning permission for the innovative attraction. Developers described the project as a "steampunk-inspired, Western-style immersive world" that will transform the shopping experience at Westfield. The venue will occupy the unit currently housing the Gravity Max arcade at Chestnut Plaza within the shopping complex.
What Visitors Can Expect
Phantom Peak offers an interactive adventure game where visitors step into a fully realized Wild West town. Guests will use a dedicated mobile app to participate in quests, solve puzzles, and interact with live actors portraying various town residents. According to the planning agents, the experience involves "solving a bunch of puzzles" and engaging directly with the cast of characters.
The attraction's website promises that visitors can "go on quests with live actors, uncover secrets, and shape your own story." Activities range from solving fictional murders to completing unusual tasks, with the website humorously mentioning the possibility of "turning a platypus into a meat cube."
Operational Details and Timeline
Each Phantom Peak show is designed to last approximately four hours, during which food and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. While the venue aims to operate until 2am, planning agents anticipate that final shows will typically conclude by 10pm or 11pm.
Tickets for the experience start from £42, offering access to what developers describe as an "app-based adventure game" set within an immersive theatrical environment. The Canada Water location is scheduled to close on February 28, with the Westfield Stratford venue expected to open in summer 2026.
Visitor Experience and Activities
Participants will embark on a series of trails throughout the Wild West town, assisting townsfolk by finding clues on noticeboards, watching videos, interacting with technology, and conversing with characters to progress through the narrative. This combination of digital and live elements creates a unique, participatory entertainment experience that blends gaming with immersive theater.
