Netflix has released the first two episodes of a Korean spy thriller that is already climbing the streaming platform's top 10 TV shows ranking. Agent Kim Reactivated follows Mr Kim (So Ji-sub), a meek office worker struggling to manage his rebellious teenage daughter Kim Min-ji (Seo Su-min) after the death of his wife. The father-daughter duo are portrayed as opposites from the start: Mr Kim apologises to Min-ji's school after she confronts three bullies, while she insists there is nothing to apologise for. When Min-ji goes missing and evidence points to a kidnapping, Mr Kim is forced to reveal his true identity as a former black-ops spy.
Plot and Release Schedule
He sheds his unassuming persona to become Agent Kim, embarking on a hunt to find his daughter. Adapted from the webtoon Manager Kim, the series is written by Nam Dae-joong and directed by Yi Seung-young and Lee So-eun. Unlike typical Netflix releases, Agent Kim Reactivated follows a weekly schedule: the third episode drops this Friday, and the fourth the following Saturday.
